Building Bridges Pendle

Building Bridges Pendle is an interfaith organisation that works with all faith communities in the borough of Pendle. It has an active education programme and has developed three interactive learning programmes for pupils aged 5-10. These are based on Government guidelines for PHSE and Citizenship education.

The programmes are run over a six-week period in schools and the one-hour sessions are delivered by a multi-faith and multi-racial team from Building Bridges in co-operation with classroom teachers. The sessions cover topics such as discrimination, bullying and marriages around the world. The focus of the programme is on celebrating the diversity of faiths and creating a better understanding between the diverse communities of the area.

The project has been successful in securing extra funding for the development of team building and anti-racism sessions delivered to young people. These were developed and run by a peer educator trained by the project Building Bridges work in schools in the Pendle area and if you would like to contact them about visiting your school please get in touch.
