The Scottish Interfaith Council recognises that young people are an important part of faith communities and seeks to engage with young people of different traditions and involve them in interfaith work throughout Scotland.
Towards this end the Interfaith Council organises an annual Interfaith Youth Conference. The council is now on its 5th annual youth conference and 4th annual inter faith retreat. The Youth Conferences are planned and facilitated by youth representatives from different faith communities across Scotland and attract hundreds of young people each year. The conferences offer workshops, talks, seminars and discussion groups on a range of interfaith issues and provide an excellent forum for young people of faith to meet, share views and exchange ideas.
The Scottish Inter Faith Council youth group have also published a booklet called 'Our Sacred Earth' a guide for being eco-friendly in your faith community. It was a practical inter faith project focussing on caring for the planet.
The next youth conference will be held in March 2009 in Edinburgh.
