Bradford Interfaith Education Centre

The Interfaith Education Centre (IEC) provides support and encouragement to anyone interested in learning about the different world religions and in particular how members of those faiths are living and working alongside one another in this multi-faith and multi-cultural city.

Through educational activities, the IEC aims to build a greater interfaith understanding and an appreciation of the richness of the religious and cultural heritage of the local district. Towards this goal, the Interfaith Education Centre supports weekly separate faith worship for Christian, Hindu, Muslim, Buddist and Sikh pupils in Bradford and also arranges visits for local and visiting schools to different places of worship in Bradford. Staff provide expertise, advice and support on individual faiths and also work alongside teachers in lessons and assemblies.

The centre is open daily and houses a bookshop, a library and loans service for subscribing schools and individuals and produces its own publications relating to the community's religions. It also runs an annual summer-term course on Community Religions, which involves visiting six different places of worship in Bradford.

The Interfaith Education Centre is part of Education Bradford's Diversity and Cohesion Service. For more information about this service please visit their website.
