During half term week in 2004 (30 May - 3 June) Diversity and Dialogue along with Bradford Community Accord, Bradford Vision and Bradford Youth Services brought together young people in from two churches and a mosque in Bradford. There had been rising tensions between some of the young people from each of the communities and the aim of the week was to encourage dialogue and promote community cohesion.
This was a week of fun activities bringing young people together, including bowling, trips to the cinema, dialogue sessions and participation workshops. It provided a welcome opportunity for the participants to build relationships across communities and a constructive activity for the holiday week. It also offered the chance to plan what the community groups could do with and for these young people on a more long term basis and the opportunity to get the participants integrated into the statutory youth service. The week was a great success and was enjoyed and appreciated by all.
