This year City Gateway engaged with over 1,000 young people from Tower Hamlets. They describe their project as 'a community hub for progression', and are focused on getting young people back into training, work or full time education. They have three projects: Import, Engage and Export, each of which provide training courses, skill development workshops, job preparation and forums for engaging and motivating young people.
Within this context City Gateway has brought together young people from a wide range of different faith groups to develop interfaith forums in each of their projects. These interfaith activities have been accessed by some of the hardest to reach young people in the community, a task achieved with the help of the City Gateway multimedia bus. Activities include sports tournaments, creative design courses, music events, DJ/MC workshops and IT training.
