This project is run by the Faiths in Further Education Forum (FiFEF) and aims to build stronger relationships between faith organisations and the learning and skills sector. It has a number of different objectives, including supporting college chaplaincies in building effective relationships with faith communities and to ensure that the spiritual needs of students of all faiths and none are effectively met in through a multi-faith chaplaincy, or other in-house multi-faith student support provision.
It is delivering these objectives through a variety of activities, for example targeted work in selected multi-faith and multi-ethnic areas to support and develop inter-faith structures and build community partnerships between colleges and faith communities. It is also working with colleges to support engagement with faith communities in multi-faith chaplaincies and other college/faith community partnerships, through local networks, mosques, gurdwara, mandr, synagogues and other places of worship.
This is a good first port of call for colleges keen to develop their interfaith work and links with local faith communities, and for faith communities keen to build links with their local colleges.
