This school-linking project involves Year 5 students visiting a neighbouring school and spending time experiencing lessons and school life as they do. The aim is to ensure that children at these single-faith based schools are exposed to each other's religions and cultures and that they make friends across the divide.
In addition Holy Trinity School has run a Learning about Islam Week in which the children from Gatton School came to visit to explain some of their religious customs and traditions. The pupils at Gatton School also spent time learning about Christianity and went on a joint visit, with Holy Trinity pupils, to Southwark Cathedral up in London.
The initiative has been exciting and enjoyable for both staff and pupils and is an excellent example of positive interfaith youth work.
