Positive Images

Positive Images is a community-based education project which aims to eliminate racism in the community through celebrating cultural diversity, and promoting understanding and tolerance. It was established in 2001 and works in the Borough of Gateshead. Positive ImagesÐ lead organisation is Gateshead Interfaith Forum who have established a formal partnership with Gateshead MBC and Gateshead Voluntary Organisations Council (GVOC).

The Avenues Project

The Avenues Project works with young people aged 11-25 from all communities in Gateshead. It runs a drop in centre and a range of activities, including football tournaments, trips, a walking club and a fishing club. It also runs a Music Project where young people can learn DJ-ing skills and how to play different musical instruments.

Young People and Faith in the North East

This is a two-year research project (2005–2007) run by Durham University which aims to work actively with young people to improve understanding of how faith communities involve and support young people within local communities.
